I wanted to get a flu shot at walgreen's. My company actually sent out a coupon to get one for free. I started calling around. All walgreen's in NYC are out of flu shots. Classic. So much for free. To get one from my doctor would cost at least $40 if not more due to my ever-rising copayments. So, today, at lunch, I went down to Penn station (yes, I'm at work for the first time in forever) and there I saw it - a big ole sign saying Flu Shots here. I got one. The issue I have is that it was Kmart. Who would've thought that Kmart was the place to get a shot? I certainly didn't. But, I have to say, it was $25, compared to $40. It was during lunch vs. going out of my way and wasting time. And, lastly, it's done.
The other day I went to the Bronx. I took the 5 train up. One of the fun moments on the subway going north or even out in Brooklyn is the moment when you get above ground. The sun, the cell coverage (that can be good and bad. Good if you want to make a call; bad if everyone is doing the same.) and usually (especially on the Brooklyn route) good views of the city. I like it.
tomorrow will be the 7th day of being sick. Cough, stuffy nose, not fun.
